Grinding the zz method
I already did this before, but i failed. and the goals were way too ambitious.
So why should anyone even seriously consider this thread?
there were 3 main reasons i failed:
1. I had the wrong mindset of trying to go 'low volume but smart' practice, and in the process, my practice became somewhat smart, but my volume was far too low, which led me to not get any meaningful results. Im talking like doing 50 solves and doing eocross+1 practice every 5 days, or even a week or so. That's because i was trying to balance 5 things at once and cubing took a back seat. However, now, I have more free time than ever, so i have the privilege to prioritize cubing now. Also, essentialism means the thing ill be doing will be way more fun for me.
2. This ties with point 1: I'm using a different method. When you're using a different method, you just have to put in 2x or 3x times as much effort, no questions asked, because you basically have to guide yourself vs using CFOP and having world class example solves on youtube + coaching services available at your disposal. That's how Roux became the way it is now: because the first Roux solvers had to work super hard and go semi-Tymon mode to get good results, and they did. And that's how the method is dominating OH and doing great in TH. If they slacked, only CFOP would be used these days and the best Roux official average would be like sub 9/8 at best.
3. My hardware is kindof dying because i didnt mentain the cube properly over the years. The cube's corner twisting on it's own no matter what usable tensions i put it in. But i bought the Gan 12 and it should arrive tommorow, so that issue's fixed. The old cube is the WRM2020 btw.
Im not going for a speed goal, at first ill just try to get the consistency in and get like 200 solves per day. That should set a solid foundation, and it would make this an actual 'grind', and not 'I'll be smart and spent like 30 minutes trying to plan the first pair and then do like 30 solves because im tired and have schoolwork to do lol' bs.
If anyone's curious how my solves look, here's a 7.19 ao50.
And if someone has any questions about the method, feel free to ask them
