For those like me who wondered why, the reason is listed in the comments on the youtube video here:And the mean is gonna be DNFed...
At least he still has the single! For those like me who wondered why, the reason is listed in the comments on the youtube video here:
He moved the camera during inspection, which violates rule 2i2b. :-(
Still an impressive accomplishment, Max!
I think it's still worth waiting to see what the final determination of the WCA is on this.So a (stupid) rule with zero impact on the solve decides the outcome......
Why should they? That would be setting a precedent that famous people get to bend the rules slightly. The regulations exist. Competitors should know about them. Why cant the WCA make an exception?
It seems pretty obvious that this didn't affect the mean at all.

(but of course ultimately it doesn't matter; we all know Max will break the world record again next weekend or something)
Then we should required WCA to cancel Feliks’s 6.88(misscramble) and give Sebatian's 18.84 a +2(touch the cube before judge's confirm) if we need to be EQUAL.
Max's move definitely didn't affect the solve or result at all. Then WCA cancel it without hesitation.
Feliks's 6.88 was definitely affected due to staff's miss. Then WCA spend days and announced that 'There was no deliberate action by the scrambler to give the competitor an advantage.'

This is WCA's spirit, huh?
Just as https://github.com/thewca/wca-regulations/issues/560 said, we should abandon these stupid regulations including 2i2b & a6e(+2 penalty)
