Congratulations to Max Park! This solve is amazing because it is the first sub 1:15 6x6 solve officially and beats the previous world record by 4.6 seconds!

Why cant the WCA make an exception?

It seems pretty obvious that this didn't affect the mean at all.
Why should they? That would be setting a precedent that famous people get to bend the rules slightly. The regulations exist. Competitors should know about them.

(but of course ultimately it doesn't matter; we all know Max will break the world record again next weekend or something)

Then we should required WCA to cancel Feliks’s 6.88(misscramble) and give Sebatian's 18.84 a +2(touch the cube before judge's confirm) if we need to be EQUAL.

Max's move definitely didn't affect the solve or result at all. Then WCA cancel it without hesitation.
Feliks's 6.88 was definitely affected due to staff's miss. Then WCA spend days and announced that 'There was no deliberate action by the scrambler to give the competitor an advantage.'

This is WCA's spirit, huh?

Just as https://github.com/thewca/wca-regulations/issues/560 said, we should abandon these stupid regulations including 2i2b & a6e(+2 penalty)

Feliks's OH single involved a violation of the regulations outside of his control. Should he be penalised for that? Probably not, but you'll find that there are still some people who think that the OH single WR isn't legitimate.

Sebastian's 18.84 and this solve were regulation violations within the competitors' control. A case could be made that Sebastian's reaction was reasonable (because it's a freaking world record, yeah?) and there was video evidence that it was fully solved before he accidentally touched it. Max had no good reason to violate 2i2b: he should have had the camera elsewhere before he said he was ready.

Should the regulations be amended? Yes. Should the current regulations be enforced for this specific incident? Yes.

A6e) After releasing the puzzle, the competitor must not touch or move the puzzle until the judge has inspected the puzzle. Penalty: disqualification of the attempt (DNF).

Sorry, but your argument is invalid because the judge had enough time to tell that the cube was solved before he touched it.

I agree with the 6.88 though, but let's just leave that already
