If your about page is still accurate, I'd suggest upgrading from the MGC 4x4 to an Aosu v7, single or double track depending on how much money you want to spend. (Triple if you want to mod the magnets.) You could also consider the Meilong v2 7x7 or one of the new 2x2s (Moyu/Vin).Got a $27 gift card for thecubicle after my 5th comp, it was sent a week ago

ball core on big cubes isn't that important for performance, but mostly on feel in my opinion. But sometimes its very goodLooking to get a 5x5-7x7. I’m looking for great performance on 5 and 7, and good on 7x7. Realistically I’m probably not going to practice 5 6 and much but I want to leave the door open in case I really enjoy them. How important is a ball core for 5x5 and 6x6? Plan right now is to get aochuang v6 single track 5x5, YJ MGC 6x6, and meilong 7x7.
I think what it mostly boils down to is how important is having a ball core on a 5x5 and 6x6?
I have the meilong v2 7x7 and I recommend it wholeheartedly. It's already good as it is, but if you get into 7x7 you can mod it. The Cubicle and Pi Cube Shop have ballcore kits for it, and I just put The Cubicle's one in my puzzle. Without the ballcore, the large size (smallest 7x7, but it's still a 7x7) and fast speed can make it feel a little uncontrollable, which is what the ballcore helps with. My solve times did not change much (about 6 minutes).Looking to get a 5x5-7x7. I’m looking for great performance on 5 and 7, and good on 7x7. Thanks for the feedback. I ended up just saying screw it and paid up for the aochuang ball core and and aoshi 6x6.I have the meilong v2 7x7 and I recommend it wholeheartedly. The Aoshi is the clear winner in 6x6, but it's a bit pricey if you're not sure you're really into 6x6. MGC vs Meilong for budget option depends on what flaws you find more annoying. I like the Meilong 6x6 for its small size and good speed, but its terrible reverse corner cutting makes me slow down on 3x3 algs for fear of lockups. I never tried the MGC 6x6, but some prefer it as the budget 6x6. But upgrading from one of those to the Aoshi may be more of an upgrade than going from single track to double track on the Aochuang v6 5x5.
