Which Cube Should I Get? Up To Date Recommendations

Yeah but ordering the aofu now is a bit much money wasted 4 me bc i have the meilong yk
You can get a ball core kit from like SCS or Picube for your meilong 7x7. I main it over the aofu as well as the ball core aofu. I average sub 4 on the ball core meilong and I average around 4:20 on the ball core aofu.

I'm tempted to buy a new 3x3. I'm choosing between:
  1. MoYu WeiLong WR M V10
  2. MoYu RS3M V5 BC
Here are the (reasonably new) cubes I have in order of preference, with some comments:
  • Tornado V3, flagship: My current main. Very nice overall, but it feels a bit slow (maybe should have gotten the Pioneer instead).
  • RS3M MagLev: I like this a lot, even though it's less than half the price of other cubes. It's a bit heavy and blocky, but otherwise great.
  • TengYun V1: I mostly use this for BLD. The magnets are too weak for me for regular 3x3, I feel.
  • Weilong WR M 2021 MagLev: Never liked this one. Hard to say why. Does the V10 have a similar feel?
  • GAN 356 M: I really don't like this cube.
Do you think I would like the WR M 10 or RS3M V5 better? Or should I maybe consider a different cube altogether? Thanks!

Recommended Square-1:

  • Great: MoYu RS3M 2020 3x3 - $8.95 - A hollow, snappy, well-performing cube.
  • Expert: MoYu Weilong WR M 2021 $29.95 - A very smooth, buttery cube with excellent corner-cutting. - Mostly too expensive to use in large muliblind attempts.

There are many places to buy puzzles, and depending on what country you live in, shipping will be cheaper. Below is a list of stores to consider:

I believe that the RS3M V5 would be good for you, as everyone seems to like it. The V10 is a bit too new and it's a gamble to get the V10 if you don't like the 2021.

As of right now, I wouldn't get a WRM v10 because of the core breaking issues it has. It's like an old batch Tornado v3 (both my and my friend's old batch TV3 cores broke). In my opinion I would either skip this cube, or just wait until they address this issue and bring out a new batch with the issue fixed. I personally think you would enjoy a YS3M instead of a RS3M v5 because it feels very similar to an RS3M 2020/2021. From my experience, the RS3M v5 feels like a WRM v9 with less auto allignment. The Guhong Pro is similar to the Tornado v3 as well if you would like to try something similar to your current main

Thank you for the recommendations! I already bought a v5 and I think I prefer it over the Tornado v3, although it's ab it hard to tell because it seems new cubes feel better when I first get them, but then when I compare after a while, the difference is not as big! Definitely a good purchase, though; it's either my favourite or second favourite cube! I'll look into both the Y3SM and Guhong Pro, though, as they look interesting. Thank you for the recommendations!

Should I get an RS3M V5, YS3M or an X-Man Tornado V3? I currently am maining the Super RS3M Maglev. I also have never tried a ball-core cube, should I try one?

I highly recommend the RS3M V5. From my experience, everyone including me seems to like it a lot, and it's relatively affordable while still being feature-packed.

Here's my view on the current state of the market, for if you want the top tier cube

Recommended 2x2x2:
  • Gan 251 Pro M - basically everyone uses this. no other good alternative

Recommended 3x3x3:
  • Moyu Weilong WR M v10 20 mag core + UV , RS3M V5 ballcore UV, Gan 12 M (i think this is still the best gan cube)

Recommended 4x4x4:
  • Moyu Aosu WR M, Vincube

Recommended 5x5x5:
  • Moyu Aochuang WR M, Gan 562 UV, XMan Hong Ballcore

Recommended 6x6x6:
  • Moyu Aoshi WR M

Recommended 7x7x7:
  • Moyu Aofu WR M, Meilong V2

Recommended Megaminx:
  • Dayan Pro (magnetic core), Gan v2 (not sure if its out yet a but a lot of fast megaminxers using this now)

Recommended Skewb:
  • Gan Enhanced

Recommended Clock:
  • Qiyi Magnetic LE, or just nicely set up standard

Recommended Pyraminx:
  • Weilong standard with magnetic core and washer mod, YLM

Recommended Square-1:
  • MGC

Recommended 15 puzzle:
  • Qiyi, Moyu

Recommended FTO:
  • Diansheng M

Recommended Redi:
  • Yuxin Petal M

Recommended Kilominx:
  • Diansheng when it comes out

Recommended Curvy Copter:
  • Lanlan

Recommended Master Pyraminx:

As someone who has owned or currently owns all of these cubes, I personally think you would like the YS3M because it feels closer to an rs3m 2020. (assuming the super is close to the 2020). If you want something faster, then the RS3M v5 would be a good fit for you.

Thanks for the recommendations! I was just wondering why no one told me to buy the X-man Tornado v3, I thought it was most people's favorite cube, or are there any problems with it?

The design of the cube itself is very not good. It has breaking problems in a lot of places, including the core stripping, the corners falling apart because of the bad design, the magnets falling out of the corners due to a bad design, and the core magnets falling out of the core, etc…

Also, as far as I’m concerned, the RS3M Ballcore v5 is an overall better cube in general, and it is better with more lube settings

Overall, it’s a 9/10 cube with some major flaws that many hope will be fixed on the Tornado v4
Should I get the Yuxin Gigaminx, or should I splurge on the Diansheng?
in most cases, I consider getting the most expensive cube possible to be an unnecessary expense. That said, Diansheng makes godly cubes, and the difference between the two is only 20$

The only huge weakness of the Diansheng compared to the Yuxin is the unnecessary plastic in the core of the cube that had to be manually removed with a hobby knife to make the cube less catchy. If you can do that, then there’s no reason to get anything else

Just a quick question about the 4x4, I don't really know a lot about 4x4's, but I thought the YJ MGC was most people's favorite, or is it too outdated to today's standards?
