So I'm going to get a Ghost Cube, but I'm stuck deciding between the silver-on-black and the white-on-black (*stickers* on *body color*). Both look really nice, but I'd like some outside input since I'm kinda neutral about which one I get. Here's a picture, and I'm only interested with the two on the bottom right.

Your avatar is a silver on black ghost cube...

Just saying!

Also, silver on black looks badass.

In case clarification is needed - I'd go for silver on black! ;)

Alright, thanks! I guess I'll go with the silver on black then since that's what most people have been telling me! I guess if I change my mind white vinyl sheets would be easier to make :P And BTW my avatar was a white one since I couldn't find a good pic of the silver one. It just looks silver since I uploaded it from my phone.

Quiet cube for an office setting?

Hey guys. I'm a programmer and I like to take breaks from coding by solving my 3x3 to help unravel my brain from time to time. I'm going to be working in a new office soon so, out of consideration of my coworkers, I'd like to use as quiet of a cube as possible.

What's your quietest cube? Are there any mods that could result in a quieter cube?

Get a 55mm zhanchi and put a lot of lube in it. Quietest cube I own.

i am wondering what 2x2 i should get because i got a maru and i went to lube it and when you put it back together it just wont turn.I want something fast but not so much that it is uncontrollable and it shouldn't pop or lock up much and is easy to put back together.
also a 3x3 that is fast and controllable with little pop and locks.
Thanks.

The Fangshi 2x2 IMO fits your description.

Hello, My friend had a weilong v2, and I loved it. It was a bit fast though. I had a fangshi shruangren v2. And it was amazing. I get around 35 second times when I was using begginers. Now I've learned f2l,oll and almost all PLL. I've been considering getting a Dianma as I hear it was slower and more controllable.

Should I get the dianma?

Avoid the Dianma. I tried it, the M slices are just too weird. Layers on a 3x3 should not be differing widths.

Before you buy a modded cube, you should know that many of these mods you can do yourself and find videos on how to do them on Youtube. Cubes from Lubix are usually just 48 point edge modded (which you can do yourself in less than 45 minutes if it is your first time) and lubed (which you can do for yourself). As of now, the Cubicle does not sell modded cubes and the Camcuber Zhanchi is just a lubed Zhanchi (just clearing that up for you).

Pros: Already set-up, better performance than out of the box of the same model

Cons: More expensive, performance may not be significant, you will have to learn how to maintain your cubes eventually when lube dries up

In general, I would not recommend a modded cube since you can just do the mods yourself as they are not that difficult. If you do decide to go down the path of a modded cube, I would figure out exactly what mods you are getting done to the cube and ask yourself is this really worth it?

The Lubix Ultimate Zhanchi is simply a lubed Zhanchi with a 48 point edge mod which in my opinion does not accomplish much on a Zhanchi.

If you were to get a non modded cube, I would recommend looking through the What Cube Should I Get? thread to get other people's opinions since they have tried many cubes that I have not.

If you watch the fast people on youtube (most of them are on in this forum) you will see that they can sub15 and possibly sub10 with a well broken in store bought cube. So if you are just getting into cubing, find a cube that will force you to be more accurate and learn your method on that. But I understand the temptation haha. I was at a minute and I had to have a Guhong. That cube is probably still too much for me. Anyway, whatever you choose, just keep at it. This is the one hobby that actually holds my attention for more than a week.
