Hey fellas, it's your friendly neighborhood Matt, and I'm making a series of YouTube videos about cubing misconceptions (channel is linked to my account as of today). I'm done recording video and audio for the first one, and it's going to cover the following misconceptions:
-Rubik's is the original, which means it's the best brand
-If you scramble the cube for 100 moves, it'll be harder to solve than if you scramble it for 50 moves
-Cubers are all good at math
-Cubes get harder the bigger they get (i.e. an 11x11 is harder than a 10x10)
-The 2x2 is too easy and a waste of time
-You can use corner twists to solve the cube
-Start by solving one side then move on to another side

What other misconceptions would you like to see covered in a future video?

- It takes a genius to solve the cube, because...
- Solving the cube is something everyone has to figure out for themselves

Most civilians don't realize that 99.9999% of cubers learn how to solve it from someone else, and that solving the cube is merely a matter of following a series of well-defined steps.

-There’s a trick.
-It’s “magic.”
-You can solve it by just turning the cube if there is a corner twist.
-Solving it with your feet is gross.
Moyu is a knock off rubiks
...or any speedcubing brand, for that matter.

I’ll update as I think of more.
