there is a very real reason why averages are considered more important than singles
tymon may have broken the 5x5 WR single three times in a row, but his PR average is 2 seconds slower than max's and max has 10 averages that are faster or equally as fast as tymon's PR

I do think if he switched off the Hong it might help, I've tried several of the newest 5x5s and the Hong seems lower on the pedestal.

i was thinking the same thing too. it's weird. I feel like max doesn't always use the "meta" tho. Like with 4x4 he used the mgc a lot, then he had a stint with the aosu, but now is on the vin when the v7 is all the rage. obviously his contracts don't hold him to one single brand, so i guess he just really likes the hong.

THANK YOU i’m sick of kids on yt going “max is done for” or “max era is over” sure, maybe other people are catching up but max is still objectively better in big cubes and can back it up.
