Hey guys.
I bought a F II a month ago . I've got an assembled one and from the first day it used to pop sometimes . i heard that it's gonna be okay with changing the original tension . Do you agree ?
If yes , what should i do ?
any advice ?!

For two handed or one handed? Rowe recommends:

hey,
I just take a piece out and pour 2-3 drops in. When i got my F2 in the mail I liked the tension at which it was set for 2h, but now I actually loosen it by a quarter turn on each side when I sit down to do OH solves. Its the perfect tension for me where its really loose but rarely pops. Then when i do 2h i tighten it back up a quarter turn again, otherwise itll explode.

Ignore the "drops". I was asking about shock oil dosage.

He likes the original tension. Actually you should try tightening and loosening till it feels nice for you. It's one of those "personal preference" questions.

What, adjust the tension until you find the one that works for you? Steady on there. Are there any step by step instructions? Maybe I should create a new thread for it.

</sarcasm>

i just got an f2 in the mail and would like to know if i should tnsion it as listed above and if i should lubricate (and before or after the new lube that came with it drys out)

The old lube is awesome. I'd just leave the lube alone until you wear it out. :)

I got mine in the mail today and it's done wonders for my technique. I've been getting better times all around and I don't see any reason to change anything about it.

I did buy some CRC silicone lube at the store while I was out for the future if I ever need it but so far the stock lube is keepin' on keepin' on.

i tried tightening and i think the cube is more stable now . and popping is less now. my F II's factory setting was a little loose

If it pops, your DIY is too loose. Tighten it.
The way I tension it (and the way I've heard other people do it too) is to knowingly set it looser than you want it, loose enough that it pops. Evenly tighten it until it doesn't pop.

The terminology is indeed shattered. If it's tensions can be adjusted, it's a DIY.
