This cube is wow.
For the past two years, GAN hasn’t made a huge blast to their cubes, new edge repelling magnets on the 13, adjustable everything on the 14, but more additions weren’t a good fit for people. Many people didn’t like the 14, as it had issues, like popping, and it was way too fast. And then they release the 14 Pro. Was that good? Meh, it may have fixed popping, but it’s still too expensive, and very fast. So at the time, the 12 was their best cube.
But here in the 15, I think GAN actually put thought into it, they removed edge repelling magnets, which wasn’t necessary in the first place, it just made it align more. They removed the adjustable magnets, I don’t know what to say, but adjustable magnets wasn’t too much of an addition, but I liked it a lot, so meh. The fact that this cube is like the 12 makes it better, Matty and Tymon finally switched from the 12 to the 15, there, that’s proof this cube is better.
Now to my opinion…
I’m surprised this cube is controllable out of the box, it’s fast still, which is great. And also, the luxury experience of a GAN cube unboxing, ahhh.
I haven’t played around with the settings yet, but I will give it a try, I think the strong core magnets will suit me well. The UV coating is beautiful, like always too.
One thing I’ve noticed is that there hasn’t been much auto-aligning, but maybe I have to work it out with the tensioning stuff and it will be fine.
So… Now the main question? Should you get this cube?
For me, yes. $70 isn’t that bad, at least they lowered the price. And also, it’s a GAN cube, and it has far more better customizability than my old RS3M V5 BC, and better accessories. For others, based on choice. The GAN 15 is a downgrade, but in a good way. They made this version more better, and not uncontrollably fast like the 13 and the 14.
Sorry for my incredibly long review (not as long as bingus’s for heaven’s sake), but I hope this can help you!
