The Filacore Project | In which I revisit the mgc5

So, I have spent some time trying to create a Filacore kit for my Mgc 5x5, but at long last I have made no progress. There is just not enough space within the core to place a two-piece core.

Update: 4x4 Filacore version 2 is in progress. Going for a more professional look. no layer lines, all black, and no visible magnets. Hopefully everything will work out. I open up my cube to check on how everything is doing, and I'm sort of disgusted by how it looks with the white, dried-up super glue and the little scratches on the magnets etcetera.

Extra Update: Possibly the last NxN mod for a while. Here at Filacore, there is plans to officially begin work on the world's first magnetic core kit for the yj yuhu megaminx. This is with the hopes of making some type of budget king... Wait, the yuhu is already the budget king... I guess we're going for budget God!

So... here in SoCal, I got some frost warnings and last night, it got so cold that my printer's pcu went haywire and began printing at like 500% speed which resulted in it overheating and whatever. Today, the printer is okay, and I am currently resuming the print job. with any luck, I should be able to test it in half an hour.

Luckily it didn't kill the printer. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, I'm sure you or your parents want to shell out $250 for another printer

Filacore Ltd. is once again trying to make a two piece core kit for the mgc 5. However, we will only be designing the kit and @NebraskanSpeedsolver may have them printed in resin for testing. Filament is unable to create such small pieces to fit inside the mgc5 and hopefully resin will get the job done. The only parts that Filacore will be making and testing in house are the corner feet. these corner feet will be made to accept cylindrical magnets which will have a stronger and more directed magentic polarity. ie the puzzles should be snappier.
