ROUND 4 RESULTS

Pair 1:

@bldcuber314 : Ao5 = 5.26
@An Animating Cuber : Ao5 = 2.78

This next one was ridiculously close; shockingly so.

Pair 2:

@AhsanDaCuber125 : Ao5 = 10.15
@CAPTAINVALPO96 : Ao5 = 10.05

Unfortunately, @bldcuber314 and @AhsanDaCuber125 will be eliminated, but congratulations for making it this far.

One half of the competitors have been eliminated, and only six remain. I will construct round 5 soon, so stay posted. The only hint I will give is that this round once again, two competitors will be eliminated and the quarterfinals will follow thereafter.

ROUND 5 INSTRUCTIONS

So I had an epiphany and a beautiful idea for round 5 came to me! One might say we’re going back to Square One given its similar theme to Round One (Hey guys! @Clock_Enthusiast here to explain the joke! Both “Square One” and “Round One” describe shapes/shape features and end in “One”. Additionally, this joke is funny because Square One (Square-1, Squan, SQ-1, etc.) is the name of an official WCA event.).

I’ll begin with the advantages!

@SkewbIsTheBestEvent , @AJT17, @Cubist-Guitar, and @Abram Grimsley must each select a number between one and six. Post the number here with NO REPEATS. This occurs on first come basis, so @AJT17 oughta know better than to pick a 4 if @Abram Grimsley does so first. Such a misstep would be shameful and rash.

These selected numbers are the places which will NOT BE ELIMINATED, meaning the remaining two slots WILL BE ELIMINATED. In the style of round one, you may pick LITERALLY ANY EVENT BESIDES FMC, but I will provide scrambles. This round will once again go by your final average time, and all times will be compared regardless of event. You may state your intended event here or in a DM. The round will begin once all event selections are in. I will periodically update this post as I ascertain new data. People with an advantage have an opportunity to make some crazy elimination spots.

1. DO GET FIRST PLACE

2. DON'T GET SECOND PLACE

3. DON'T GET THIRD PLACE

4. DO GET FOURTH PLCE

5. DO GET FIFTH PLACE

6. DO GET SIXTH PLACE

This was a great forum comp, good luck to everybody else!

@Clock_Enthusiast since the scrambles aren’t posted yet can I change my event, I did not anticipate that @Cubist-Guitar would be so good at 2x2
That’s why you wait until everyone puts their numbers in before picking your event. Who knows, you could get a PB ao5 and I could get a 2.6 ao5 because I choked, but you should have waited, and this change of events will negatively impact the stability and moral foundation of this comp

Unfortunately I cannot do that. It wouldn't be fair to those who used their advantage to select a spot that would be safe (and therefore, who may have selected an event best suited for a desired result). You aren't doomed though by any means.
