So I had an idea for something that can make going to competitions more fun! Team Cubing is basically where you have 5 speed cubers who are apart of a team, and every time one member of your team competes, they get points based how they ranked with their average compared to the world rankings. obviously, more popular events will reward more points and records will also be rewarded with extra points. This will all work with using your WCA profile and a new website. You can create a team name, with 5 starters and 4 substitutes. After each season (winter, spring, summer, and fall) the top ten teams will get prizes (not known what prizes yet). I done think I could do this by myself and need some bigger people that would like to spread this and help create it. I think this could be the next step for virtual cubing, but bringing yourself into it! hope it can happen!

His response was blunt but true. What you've described is almost exactly how fantasy cubing worked up until it fell apart in 2016. It wasn't really exciting at all because most weeks the cubers you picked for your team weren't even competing, so because there wasn't any constant engagement, everyone got bored of it. That's why the new system that started this year is so much better because it keeps you engaged every week.
