solving the 5x5

I was wondering how many more algorithms you would need to know when solving the 5x5.

I can solve the 4x4 now when I dont get the parity error (if I do, I just start to randomly swap edge pieces untill it works out..)
So I know how to swap edge pieces.. How does this work with the 5x5?

And how do you solve one? Centers first then team up "edges" and then solve like a regular 3x3 ?

I am not a specialist at either of those, but I can solve them both. The 5x5 is solved almost identical to a 4x4. You solve the centers, pair up the edges, and then solve like a 3x3. On a 4x4, you have parities. On a 5x5, since it is an odd number, you won't have any parities when solving like a 3x3. As far as 4x4 parities, I only know 3-5 "extra" algorithms to deal with parities, and they are real easy to execute/recognize. Check out bigcubes.com.
