Started timing on 05/15/24 (PDF contains all solves until 9/15/24, 2,467 solves)

These average calculations are normal and do not take off the worst and best solves, its just a pure avg.

As of 5/15/24 I averaged ~45s
As of 6/17/24 I averaged ~34s
As of 7/21/24 I averaged ~31s (plateaued)
As of 8/22/24 I averaged ~25s

Got a gan 12 UI FP around 9/20/24, and all timed solves are on cubeast from that point.

My first ao100 on cubeast was probably around 9/25/24 and it was 25.28

Oct 5

13.38 single

18.14 ao5 PB

19.19 ao12 PB

21.47 a100 PB

As of 10/20?/24 my ao100 was 20.59

Oct 26

13.38 single

15.50 ao5 PB

17.08 ao12 PB

20.06 ao100 PB

Nov 2

12.90 single

15.50 ao5 PB

17.08 ao12 PB

19.32 ao100 PB

Nov 16 (378 times solves on this day)

12.42 single

15.50 ao5 PB

16.74 ao12 PB

18.97 ao100 PB

Sub 15 goal (with ideal proportions):

1.8 + 7.5 + 2.48 + 3.23 =15

Currently: ao100 splits

2.98+10.15+2.53+3.39 = 19.05

Ideal proportions (based on avg 19s)

2.28 (12%) +9.5 (50%) + 3.13 (16.5%) + 4.08 (21.5%)

Goals for proportion:

Get cross ao50 0.7 faster

Get F2L 0.65 faster

(Ignore OLL and PLL for now)

Goals for sub 15:

Get cross 1s faster (1.98)

Get f2l 2.65s faster

(Ignore OLL and PLL for now)IMG_2483.png

I thought I was gonna make this thread for only 3x3 but I figure I might as well put 4x4 here as well. I got an aosu v7 a month or two ago, did like 10 solves on it (only an additional 3 today that were untimed) and then stopped using it cause it was squeaky and my lazy self didn’t want to take it apart to lube the centers. I also really underestimated how fun 4x4 can be.

I completed my first timed solves today after drilling the oll and pll parity algs, getting a better grasp of how centers can be solved and watching J perms 232 edge pairing method. I dont quite understand the best way of doing that method but I get it enough that usually I can pair 2 edges at a time without excess effort.

anyway, I’m happy with my starting point. What do you think?IMG_2486.png

My last ao100 pb was solve number 2285, I’ currently on solve number 2834 (difference of 549 solves). Ive spent most of my slow solve time on 4x4 for the past two weeks so most 3x3 solves were timed which is what I attribute the lack of improvement to. In fact my cross has actually gotten half a second worse as of my last ao100. Over the past 550 solves though, I feel some consolidation to a lower ao100 coming. I’ve been much more inconsistent with my good solves being 17s, and 16s and much more frequent than they seemed in my last ao100, but they’re often followed by 20’s to 23’s. After that pb ao100 the following days I spiked back up to 20-21s ao100s and now with less effort I’m sub 20 despite the inconsistency. I’ll be putting all my effort into timed cross, and blind cross, and fewest moves cross (with cross trainer) for the next week or so and will check back in. Any tips for getting cross to that sub 2 mark are MUCH appreciated.IMG_2495.png

Haven’t done too many times solves and the ones I’ve done aren’t exactly the fastest. I’ve been focusing on move count and just trying to keep my times sub 30 and my move count under 70. I’m getting lots of solves in the low 60’s move count. I had two 13 second solves today that weren’t high TPS they just had great flow and around 50 moves. I got a new cube and basically all solves on this cube are focused on move count and you can see I’ve managed to drop my avg move count by about 3 moves. My average time is probably around 23 seconds right now but the hope is that with time getting my F2L perfect rather than fast it will naturally become faster. A huge part of this is also paying much more attention to EO and not rotating until I have to. I’m also generally avoiding my rotation less algs in favor of focusing on mastering the 41 basic F2L cases. This I think is the best way I’ve discovered so far to improving F2L, and combines EO recognition, pair choice, and RUR/LUL practice. I think this is what will get me out of my plateau. My F2L already feel smoother and often times significantly faster on time even though it *feels* slower.

IMG_2554.pngI’ve done about 50 solves so far today. My ao100 is currently a slow 25s (ao50 is probably a few seconds faster) I’ve managed to average 65 face turns over the past 50 solves today. Clearly this efficiency practice is paying off, I just need to do it faster.

Also even though I’m solving slow and getting consistent 25s solves, I’m also getting more 13 second solves than ever. Pretty cool to see.

IMG_2556.pngI got a Dayan Pro M megaminx for Christmas. I’m really looking forward to getting “decent” on megaminx in the coming months. I like solving mega much more than 4x4 not sure why exactly. anyway the cube is great and here’s my first timed solve ever on megaminx. I’m currently using J perm’s beginner method. Megaminx PB currently set at 6:48 lol.

Edit: In an effort to not congest my thread I’ll post my mega PB’s here until they stabilize given I’m so new to it.

12/28/24: PB 5:12 (second ever timed solve lol)

How many mega solves have you done on this new puzzle?

Top is the breakdown for my best ao100 ever about a month ago, and bottom is most recent today.

Hopefully I’m on my way to a PB ao100. Cross is slower but move count is improved. PLL and OLL are getting fast with no direct practice. F2L is slower, but more efficient. My avg move count is at 67, previously it was 70. There’s also a ton of variation in my solves right now largely because of the increased focus on doing F2L as efficient as possible so I slow down and often make mistakes on some cases. I’m getting 15’s way more regularly, but my avg gets destroyed by 25’s and +2’s from over inspecting.

Long awaited. My last PB’s were on nov 16. Today I beat my previous ao5 15.50, now 15.49 (ik lol), and my previous ao100 18.97, now 18.48.

Is also note my move count has gone from 67 to 66.

Timed solve #3934

Progress is progress. Not very satisfied with it but it is what it is.

IMG_2589.pngSuch a good weekend. New PBs.
Ao5: 15.34 (13.46,14.72, 16.09, 18.46, 15.23)

Ao12: 16.61
Ao100: 17.64

Started off with unusual flow. I was doing 4x4 solves and when I came to 3x3 I felt a dramatic change in look ahead, and my pair solutions felt much more instinctive than they ever have. I’m certain I could have gotten sub 17 today, but I was so fatigued and my times just suddenly slowed down to really consistent 17-18 seconds with basically none of the 13-15 second solves that made my avg. anyway, this week I dropped my ao100 from 18.97 to 17.64.

I’m currently on solve #4157. I’m guessing I got the PB around #4100 and then that’s where the drop off in times happened.

I did a total of 225 solves today.
