iitimer skewb srambles are too long so it a bit if hand sramble with about 10 moves from a generated one so they are more likely to be lucky.

Skewb Image Templates

A while back I made a template for generating Skewb images as I do for my website. Per request, I've uploaded this template in two parts, separated for the foreground UFR faces and the background DBL faces. I've also uploaded the master template I use as an .xcf file that is compatible with GIMP for those who have it.
For those without GIMP, I position the layer with the UFR faces on top of the layer with the DBL faces, and additionally set the opacity of the layer with the DBL faces to 50%.

Colours I use:
White: ffffff
Red: ff0000
Green: 008800
Yellow: ffff00
Orange: ff8800
Blue: 0000ff
Pink: ee5aff
Grey: 888888

Undisputed? Hardly. Maelstrom uses a QJ and averages 9, I THINK Odder uses a QJ and he had the UWR a while ago of 5.xy

Odder uses a Meffert's. Because he's Odder.

In any case, I've been generating a ton of algs this week. Expect some by Sunday (I hope?)?

What do you use?

The centres on QJ and LanLan both pop easily. Do competitors need to adjust their style to avoid pops?

Perhaps we've been spoiled to much with the advances in other twisty puzzles...

You don't really need to adjust your style too much on skewb. Turning accurately is fairly easy because of the clicking mechanism most skewbs have.

3x3 cross can be done in 8 or fewer moves. I am curious if anyone made a similar study regarding placing the first 4 corners around one center. What's the average/max optimal movecount?

Thanks Methuselah96!

6 moves at most and 4 moves on average when colour neutral... looks like we all have a lot of practicing to do.

If people can get down to 4 move layer consistently then Skewb will be like 2x2, one look solves...

Finding the layer and tracking every other piece would be significantly more challenging though. I don't think anyone will be capable of doing this in the near future.

Auto-correct?
when using a ipod or any ios device the auto-correct is annoying.

Also 1 looking Skewb solves harder than 2x2 half the puzzle rotates at a time. But someone will be able to eventually. Also what is your TPS on Skewb mine is like 1.5 and a average around 18. Singles vary greatly from 10-25.

Um. Half the 2x2 rotates at a time as well.
