I don’t want to diminish your work on the cubes, but when Chris Tran first sourced this project, he noted that for it to be professionally done, it would cost $8-9 per 3x3. $45 is quite ridiculous for a price, especially because magnets on e Bay are $0.99 and stickers are a couple bucks. If it price was lowered I would consider it.

Sounds perfectly fine to me. I was just recently told about this treatment and looked into it without knowing how much he was able to do it for. Shoot me a price and I would be happy to work with it Thank you!

yea but u have to realize that Chris was never going to sell the service just by itself. probably was going to upcharge it as a labs puzzle at a price of like $70 just like his polymer coatings. the original price is fair imo

Keep in mind, $70 would be for custom cubicle premium setup and stickering service. This cube is not (properly) magnetic and is not setup to optimal conditions

> complains about price because chris estimated price would be different
> chris isn’t the one actually selling them

Boron treatment cost a lot for supplies. Keep in mind that Chris doesn't sell these anymore and to find these kind of cube treatment. It's only available at thecubicle or a second user but it's currently unavailable everywhere so I think $45 Is a reasonable price. I know Chris personally and I know his process to coat cubes or boron treat one and it is not cheap.

He never sold them in the first place actually, they have only been available to testers, people who personally knew chris or second hand sellers. Also the only thing somewhat expensive thing for boron treatment is the THF and if you buy it in bulk it can be pretty inexpensive.

Another thing to keep in mind is that since I cannot buy the THF in bulk (because I don't own a company), I can only buy a bottle with a fixed amount at a time and because of that, I spend more money on the chemical than the cubes. This is not including labor fees and the risk behind it.

I meant when he had his angstrom research website he was selling some coated cubes which is basically like a variation of boron treatment. Also I have tried all of his products because I known him personally and he has told me materials and tools he use to make different innovative ideas to make cubing better.
