I have a slightly random question about the first block. It's kind of hard to explain, so I'll use an example of what I do.
For the first block, would it work well to place the center with the edge instead of the edge with the center? For instance:
Scramble (off qqtimer): L' U' B2 D2 U' F' R2 D' B' F' R D U' B' D' B' D' U2 B L B' U L' U D2
I would do:
x y' // inspection
Uw' R' Uw2 // 2x2x1 (3)
U' M' U' L U2 L' U L U' L'// LB (10)

I know that I fail at blockbuilding(working on it :p), but does the idea of placing the center with the DL edge instead of the DL edge with the center seem at all plausible?

for the second block, in general, if it works then it's okay as long as there is not more than 1 cube rotation and you finish on your left.

Let's add some flavor to keep this thread going. I'll post a scramble, and my solve. You can post your solve, and rate mine as well if you want :)

Scramble: R B2 L B2 R U2 L' B2 U2 R2 U L2 B U F' R' U2 F L D'

Solve:

x2 y // inspection
D2 U2 F' // 2x2x1 (3)
U2 Rw U' R B' // LB (5)
R Rw U2 R2 U' R' // 2x2x1 (6)
U2 R' U2 R U Rw' U' R // RB (8)
(U2) x' F U' R U L' U2 R' U2 R // CMLL (10)
U M' U M' // EO (4)
U' M' U2 M' // LBRB (4)
U' M U2 M' U2 // L4E (5) Total: 45

I feel like my solves are night and day compared to a while back. I don't see a ton of room for improvement on this scramble, but I'm sure some more creative Rouxers can find some better stuff :) Also feel free to be as color neutral as you want. I'm adding color neutrality now, but still not great in my speed solves (CN average when not using my main setup is around 33 seconds)

Sub 50 moves (STM) on average ist good for Roux, Gilles Roux assumes a 48 move count on average on his page. Your solution looks very good, i don't think you have to work on your move count.

I scrambled your solution with white on top and green in front. On a speedsolve i have green or blue on left, i can't do more CN (in a speedsolve).
Here is my solution with blue on left, the LSE was a little lucky

insp: x2 y
LB: D2 U2 F' U2 Rw U' R B' [8]
RB: R Rw U2 R2 U' R' U2 R' U R U2 RW' U' Rw [14]
CMLL: B' R U R' B R U' B R' [9]
EO: M' U M' [3]
L4E: U M' U2 M2 U2 M' [6]

40 STM

Not bad at all! LB/RB are pretty close to mine, You had a different CMLL that set up a really nice L6E for you. Nice solve!

Hmm. Occasionally I put Roux solves on the Example solves game thread.
Should I write them here instead?

...should we start a Roux-only example solve game thread?

We can do that. I posted a scramble earlier, I was interested in seeing how other people would do the same solve. Maybe you can try that one?

Yes the first 15 Moves are the same (the second block was a little different a the end), but this was a total coincidence, i saw this after i postet my solution.

I recently had a lucky single with this scramble: U R2 B2 U' F2 U' R F D' U' L2 R D L2 R2 F2 D2 U R D L' (scramled it with white on top and green in front, solved it with green on left and white on bottom)

I think a a Roux-only example solve game thread is a good idea.
But i think it would be better to not have only one solution for each scramble, maybe a scamle could be used for x solutions or for a time period.

got a 40 mover for this one, should have speedsolved it, hey maybe we can also share easy/lucky scrambles to promote our pb singles.

44 moves on first try:

y' x'
U' R' F2 u F U F' (7)
M U r U' r U M2 U' R r U2 R' U R (14)
U' R' U2 R' D' R U2 R' D R2 (10)
M' U M' U2 M U' M2 U' M' U2 M U2 M (13)

EDIT:

Today I did a 11.48, which is very good for me. However, it was quite a long solution. I think my lookahead worked this time...

Scramble: U' F U2 L2 B2 U' L' D B D2 L2 D2 R2 B2 L2 B2 R2 B'

y2 z
D' R' U2 R2 r' U (6)
l U M' U' R U' r' U' R U r U' M2 U r (15)
U2 U R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 (15)
U2 M' U M' U M U M' U' M2 U E2 M E2 M (15)

This was my lucky single PB, my solution:
U R2 B2 U' F2 U' R F D' U' L2 R D L2 R2 F2 D2 U R D L'

insp: y x'
LB: D' Rw B' M' U2 Rw' F [7]
RB: U' R' M' U M Rw' U' Rw [8]
CMLL: R' U L' U2 R U' R' U2 R2 x' [9]
LSE: M' M' U' M' U M' U2 M U2 [9]

33 STM; 10.870s

I tried it i few times again a got a best of 7.905s, so my lookahead seems improvable.

Good idea, my nl pb single:

R F' U2 L2 R D L D U2 F L2 R' D' U B U B' L2 F U' L'

insp: y
LB: F2 R B2 M F [5]
RB: R U R M U2 Rw' U' Rw M U2 M' Rw U Rw' [14]
CMLL: F R' F' R U R U' R' [8]
EO: U' M' U' M U2 M' U' M' [8]
UL/UR: U' M2 [2]
L3E: U' M' U2 M2 U2 M' [6]

43 STM; 14.176s

For that scramble, I would do:
y' x
u' R E2 B2 U' B (6)
U' R' U2 R2 U r' U' R2 U r' U2 M' U' r (14)
U R' U' R U' R' U R U' R' U R U' R' U2 R (16)
U2 M' U' M2 U E2 M' E2 (8)

44 moves. The CMLL seems long, but it is hell fast.

For your solution i would take this CMLL: U2 (F' R D2 R' F) U2 (F' R D2 R' F)

Your LSE ist interesting, you orient the u/d colors in f/b

I used to be using that, but I find the current one much faster. Probably because of my fingertricks: the R' U' R U' R' U2 R anti-sune is the fastest anti-sune for me, and that D1 CMLL is very similar to that.

wait, yours is just an inverse of mine right? for me, R U R' U R U2 R' is the best sune, how do you do that anti sune.
