For the cross I could have solved it with L F2 R2 but I saw the Blue Red and I knew I could save it if I solved the Blue Cross piece first, so I swapped the R2 and then F2. And now for pair 4, I knew that doing triple sexy would skip OLL in this case
There's also a second way to solve it the case, when all the corners are oriented, you can do a triple sledge to skip OLL.

When I get the all corners oriented case, I do this:
U2 (setup) R2 U2 R2' U' R2 U' R2'
Also skips OLL
Cool to know that triple sledge skips OLL, but I think doing sledge too many times fast is more likely to mess up.

At this point I'm just done. What the point of having a hobby if it's still going to always annoy them? I played games, they didn't like it, I stopped playing games. I learnt how to solve a cube and now they don't like it. I guess I'll just **** off and write a book if it makes them happy.

I think that sometimes. Mostly because some of my family loves cubing and some of my family hates cubing. I just put all my cubes and everything in a closet for a week and then I always come back to it. The only reason I come back is this quote:

Wow so sorry to hear this. We totally understand if you need to cube a little less, or if you need to stop entirely, but, as @cuberswoop said, don't let them have such massive control over such a great hobby in your life.
Just remember all the great things you have gotten from cubing, maybe tell them about it. You've met tonnes of people, and you've learned how to practice effectively, and maybe even how to deal with setbacks; these are great things! It would be such a shame to lose that.

Since I don't have a 3x3 or 4x4 to grind (and I was just getting sub-50 4x4) I guess I'll learn Megaminx then and start grinding towards sub-2. I'm also doing a course on Coursera on Google UX Design and I have been doing it since last week, so that's also been taking my time. Since I left school I have learnt Photography, Forex and I was learning Greek so I genuinely don't know what triggered my mom to take my cubes. Sucks anyway.

Timona, does J perm have videos on megaminx? Cuz Faz's mega videos are just loading too slow for me.

J-Perm only has a Beginner tutorial. I checked his WCA profile, seems like he doesn't really care about Megaminx that much. For Faz's tutorials, I only watched the different ways to do S2L, that's Bálint, Yu Da-Hyun and Westlund. I haven't watched the rest.

Funny story, I was experimenting with PLLs I could carry over from 3x3 to Megaminx and I tried the J-perms and they worked and funnily enough I got it in this solve so I basically skipped EP and CP, recognition took like 3 seconds but it was worth it.
