Hello everyone!
This is my new progression thread, hopefully this will motivate me to reach my goals.
Main events: 3x3, 4x4, 3x3OH, Square 1?, Clock
Goals to achieve before 2024:
Sub 10 global on 3x3, Sub 7 single | Current PB Ao100: 12.05
Sub 50 global on 4x4, sub 40 single | Current PB Ao100: 57.80
Sub 20 global on 3x3 OH, sub 15 single | (Haven't done an Ao100, but I have had several online comp averages of around 25-30)
Clock: Sub 10 global, maybe sub 9? Just need to practice more
Square 1: Learn the event, hopefully average sub 30 or 20?

My best 3x3 Ao5 from today was 10.98. Pretty solid, especially since my hands are tired from competing all weekend.

What things of your solves need most improvement to be aub10?
After watching some of my solves that I recorded, I think that the thing I need to work on the most is not pausing during F2L. I am able to plan the cross in inspection, but I have trouble tracking pairs while I'm solving the cross or solving the first 2 F2L pairs. Also, I need to work on smoother turning, rather than spamming TPS during the last pair and OLL/PLL. This leads to a lot of lockups in many of my solves. Additionally I need to work on my last layer algorithms, specifically my PLL. I'm able to get a few of my PLLs sub 2 or sub 2.5, but that's only the T perm, J perm, A perms, E perm, H perm and Z perm. Finally, I need to work on better F2L efficiency, since I end up wasting a lot of moves during that stage of each solve.
I think doing slow solves, drilling algs or learning better ones, watching example solves, and maybe experimenting with different cube setups may help me with some of these issues.

Wow, if you average 12 and your PLL takes over 2 seconds that's pretty impressive ngl. Either get a better cube or/and start using better finger tricks for algs.

Those goals seem quite similar to mine. For Square-1, it’s quite easy to improve, at least for me. I started not too long ago and average low 30s, so I can definitely see you average at least sub-30 if you put the practice in.

That’s what I was going to say. Perhaps your best interest right now is to drill PLL algs?

That's a good idea. I've been using a PLL trainer to start drilling them and getting them as fast as possible, as well as learning new algs for the ones I use that are not as good, for example wide move G perms or other algs that I can't execute quickly.

After putting in some work using JPerm's PLL trainer, I am able to pretty consistently sub-2 almost all PLL except for Nb, Gc, Gb, and V perms. I'm planning on continuing to grind those, and I am currently learning better algs for those cases. Next, I will be starting to work on getting faster at OLL, since I realized that several of my OLL algs take me around 2 seconds.

Wait, so you took 4-5 seconds on LL? Wow, well then if you manange to get good at LL, you'll improve by a ton.

Been continuing to grind PLL and OLL algs, got a PLL ao100 of 1.7
Going to continue optimizing my algs and getting them faster
Also got a PB Ao50 of 11.66 with a 8.20 single and 8 sub-10 singles!
Additionally, working on my clock solves and got a PB ao12 of 10.85

The biggest moment in my cubing journey so far just happened:
I finally got a sub-10 average of 5: 9.87
Time List:
1. (11.99) U' L B2 D F' L' U L2 U B2 D B2 D2 B2 D F2 U B2 R B'
2. 9.98 R2 L D' R U F2 B D2 R B U2 L2 F D2 F2 U2 F' D2 B' R2
3. (9.54) L2 B' D' L F' L' D R' D2 R B2 L' U2 B2 D2 B2 R D2 L' U'
4. 9.84 R D' R2 U2 L' D2 B' U B2 U2 R F2 R' U2 B2 U2 F2 R F2 U'
5. 9.78 D R2 B2 D2 L2 F2 U L2 B2 D F2 U2 R' U B D2 B2 L U' F2 D

I really don't know what happened, my turning felt smooth and lookahead felt great on all of the solves, some of which had easy crosses and f2l.
Next goal: get a sub-10 ao12!

Got a great ao12 PB today: 10.94
Continuing to work on OLL algs, finally starting to get my LL up to speed with a OLL ao100 of 1.47
Going to keep working on getting those LL times down though
Also been trying to work on F2L efficiency and solving without pauses, doing slow and untimed solves to try to get this down. Solves are starting to feel smoother!
Also just got a 4x4 single PB of 43.26
