So.. i'v just got back into speedcubing for the first time in a couple years (Logged back into this site after many more years) And i sorta NEED a better cube
since i started cubing i have always used Rubik's brand so i decided to buy my first acctual speedcube.. A Cube4You speedcube (NIB) and.. well.. lube doesnt seem to work some times and it pops and locks more than David Elsewhere!

So i want you guys to reccomend me a nice quality cube to go about with.
(With links to buy one if you're super cool ;) )

I recorded an average the other night of 21.4something seconds if you're wandering.
Thanks..

I would get one of these, or all of them: http://thecubicle.us/dayan-zhanchi-p-32.html?osCsid=3e290a8b5964a8c630a7115efc866b46 or a http://thecubicle.us/fangshi-shuangren-p-500.html or maybe a http://thecubicle.us/moyu-weilong-p-955.html. Oh and you might want some of this: http://thecubicle.us/assorted-regular-silicone-lube-p-61.html (note that any silicone oil will do. Just make sure it is 30-50k. And lube the cubes like this:

You may want to use a different site because you live in the UK, this one should work: http://www.UKCubeStore.com

The most popular cubes on the market right now are the Dayan Guhong, Dayan Zhanchi, Fangshi ShuangRen, MoYu Huanying, and the MoYu Weilong. Both MoYu cubes are wicked fast and have no friction at all; on the flipside, they're both incredibly hard to control.

The Zhanchi is crispy and fast; it's similar to the MoYu cubes, but it's a bit slower and more controllable.

The Fangshi is a very good cube that takes all the pros from the Zhanchi and makes them better. There's just one problem: corner twists. If you have the tensions of the cube set to something that isn't tight, the corners will twist in place. Depending on who you are, this might make for frustrating solves.

The Guhong is definitely the smoothest and slowest of the group. It was the original non-blocky design, so it's a bit less refined, but it's a good cube nonetheless.

I don't know of good locations to buy all these cubes in the UK, so I won't even try.

For lube, try a silicone based oil such as Shock Oil, Differential Oil, Lubicle, or Lubix.

Use UKCubeStore, it's run by KongShou on the forum, so no communication issues, and normally dispatches same day.

Not sure if he's in China at the moment though... PM couldn't hurt.

I'd get a Zhanchi, it's tried and tested and everyone loves it, the last 3 (at least) world records were set using one. The Fangshi and MoYu cubes have divided opinion, whereas almost everyone universally likes the Zhanchi.

Once you figure out your turning style, try the fangshi and moyu cubes, and pick which one suites you the best.

If you can afford it, buy a few - all of the recommended cubes are good, they just feel a bit different, so it's down to personal taste.
