Hey guys! I've had a redi cube for about a week and I discovered something cool from solving. During the 2nd step if you solve 2 last layer edges you are guaranteed to skip the last step. Similarly, if you only solve one edge you will get a four move LL case which is still very fast. This is useful because you will often get random solved edges during the second step.

22.15 avg12 with only one sub-20 single, I'm too consistent

How viable would 3-style be for speedsolving? Solving corners takes like 3 seconds on average, you could force some edges to be solved and then probably like 5 edge cycles which would average 5 moves, taking 2 seconds for each would be 13ish average

also only 55 cases

I don't know, I feel like it would be pretty hard to recognize. I currently average 12-13 with a basic LBL-type method, and I feel like it could definitely be sub-10 with a bit of practice and better hardware.

Hm, very cool. Makes sense. Thanks for sharing! :)

I don't use the table at all. I do wrist turns with my right hand and hold the cube with my left and do mostly flicks. I find table abuse very awkward for turning and looking ahead.

Yeah, I'm guessing average of 5? Current UWR average is 10.51 by me, so you should update the UWR page with your new record! :)

What do you average globally?

Sorry, but I am not sure exactly what global average means, but my best times are:

Single- 6.12
ao5- 9.92
ao12- 10.56
ao50- 11.43
ao100- 11.66

Also, I don't know how to update the UWR page

You can create an account and click the edit button on the section you want to edit. In this case it would be the "Other" section. Then you scroll down to Redi Cube and update the times. Those are all UWRs by the way (except the single), so congratulations! :)

Oh and by the way, global average just means what you average in general, as opposed to a PB average.

Also, just kinda curious to see your turning style, haha. Do you think you could upload some solve videos when you get the chance?

Just uploaded an average of 12.

I just got my first sub-10 single! Then I got two more 25 solves later! I'll just reconstruct my best one which was 9.15.

Scramble: F' R' b l r' b L B' R B' R' F L' B' R F
x L F' L' f y' l f l' y' R f F f' // Blue Layer 11/11
F' y' F' R' F' R F // First Two Pairs Pairs 5/17
y' L F // Last Two Pairs 2/19

Nice! With how fast people are getting sub 10, sub 8 avg is definitely possible. I just wonder how long it will be.:) (Also how many comps have had "official" rounds of redi cube, and who will win that moyu 15x15?)

Alright, just finished an Ao50, 14.15. 3 sub-10s, 2 were sub-9. Not half bad.

@xyzzy Is it possible to determine how many states there are after first layer and how many moves they take?

(8!/2) × 3^4 = 1632960 states with the first layer solved. I don't have the exact move count distribution lying around, but this is what I got from sampling 5000 random states (with optimal 4-gen solutions; some cases might or might not be a bit shorter if you allow 8-gen):

0 : 0
1 : 0
2 : 0
3 : 1
4 : 3
5 : 9
6 : 55
7 : 188
8 : 624
9 : 1561
10 : 1790
11 : 734
12 : 35

Thanks.

I'm still not sure which method (LBL or adjacent layers) is more efficient and how close to optimal they are
