problem with firefox

for some reason my address bar started searching in favorites and not the internet. I used to just be able to type "weather" and it would take me to www.weather.com. now when I type it in it comes up with a page that says "file not found". I tried to play with some things in about:config but nothing worked. anyone know how to fix this?

Try reinstalling firefox.

maybe they changed their url

UPDATE: i just tried and it took me to weather.com, just reinstall

yeah I looked around on google and that's what they said to change but it doesn't make a difference. I'll just reinstall it.

You might restore all preferences to defaults. To do this, close all fx windows, and either press Win+r -> enter firefox -safe-mode or navigate to fx folder and find safe mode runner. (For linux just enter firefox -safe-mode into terminal). Dialog window will pop. Check "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" -> Make changes and restart.
