right, competition time again, we do it

goals:

3x3: sub-20 average
2x2: sub-4.00 average
3x3 OH: sub-1:00 average
4x4: yeah right

honestly I'm not gonna do well, I haven't been practicing and I don't intend to give up my 12 hour work/rehab days for cubing practice. I'm just gonna go, make trades, and have fun.

Want to get sub-30 on 3x3, sub-6 on 2x2, and start getting consistent times on Pyraminx instead of getting between 8 seconds and 20 seconds. Also Square-1, just Square-1. That's all I'm gonna say about it

Well, from here until a day before the comp, just work on the skills that you already know. Don't learn anything new. However, the day before the comp, just take it to chill and don't do any large sessions.

I don't own a 7x7 yet
3x3 OH: Tengyun
Pyra: RS Pyraminx w/ glossy plastic mod
Skewb: RS Skewb
I have a Megaminx but its cheap and i forgor algs
Same thing with Square-1.

The comp is doing 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, Pyra, Skewb and 3x3 OH. I'm doing everything but OH because the cutoff is 1 minute and I average 1:30 OH (I have bad algs).

Bobcat Battle 2023 in Vegas. I saw one in San Jose and I heard that you're from Northern California and I'm assuming you're going to that one. Ya never know, though.

Clock: QiYi Clock modded to look like a ShengShou
3x3: Even more contenders.
3x3 Practice Cube: Kylin V2 (it doesn't have good corner cutting, so it forces me to turn accurately)

I would say either the Tengyun V1 of the Valk.

For mains, honestly, I have only tried the Tengyuns, but I know that the Moyu RS3M 2021 Maglev is a great contender for a main, in my opinion. It's $14 and has great performance out of the box (after broken in). If you have to use a cube you already have, I recommend the Tengyun.

The Valk isn't technically a Valk, its a cube called the YiSheng Magnetic 3x3 but it feels so similar to the Valk that it just is a Valk with a dual-adjustment system, so I just called it a Valk so people can understand what it is

I'm going to practice more on the "Valk" now. Also, I've optimized all of my PLL algorithms! No more confusing G-perm whatnot. Also, just learned Clock.
