OH Table Use

That wasn't the argument. The argument was whether you should be allowed to intentionally use the table for turns or not. Obviously the table is fine for misalignment/pop fixing.

I think you should be able to intentionally use the table for turns because if you don't, there's no way to enforce it since people would use it for pops, etc.

Actually it looks like the WCA is having server issues again... I can get to the regulations here:

C1b) During the solve no other body part or any object other than the surface must touch the puzzle. Penalty: disqualification of the solve.
C1b2) If a puzzle defect occurs, and the competitor decides to repair it, then repairing must be done with one hand, use of the surface is optional. Penalty: disqualification of the solve.
C1c) During the solve, once a competitor touches the puzzle with one hand, he must not touch the puzzle with the other hand. Penalty: disqualification of the solve.

Its not the site, i cant see records either, and its been blocked for a while now.

Considering the regulations specifically say that you can use the surface i think its fair. Although I think your probably asking if that should be in the regulations so...

my thoughts are this. If a competitor is allowed to use the table to fix pops, and fix misalignments then the competitor should also be allowed to use the table for turns.

It doesnt hurt the competition or other competitors, helps unbias OH solving towards certain methods, or rather against certain methods. And its done with one hand.

Anyhow, current regs do allow it unintentionally, which is one of those issues that often comes up somewhere implicitly.
