it would be really good for a 1x2x1, because they basically have to be turned like a fidget spinner.
But I don't think anyone wants their 3x3 to turn like that

it can't turn like a fidget spinner (because of how cubers grip a 3x3 and the normal alignment magnets)

Also, I found out that the name for the bearing i was talking about is the "608 bearing", normally used in fidget spinners.

The magnets should be strong enough to align it in place, but not hinder the cube by being too strong.
