Monthly Event Plan for Success

now on, I'll look ahead
I've been cubing for about 4 years, but it's been around a years or two since I've seen substantial improvements. So I will set goals. Monthly goals. I will mainly update the spreadsheet weekly, but every once in a while I'll post some updates here. School starts in 3 days, so it may affect how much time I'll have for cubing considering I'm a sophomore taking 3 AP (college) classes, Physics, Pre-calculus, Finance, and other time-consuming classes. Nevertheless, cubing will drive me to finish as early as possible each day and have some fun.

I'm still planning out what events I'll do each month as well as the goals for each week, but I'll work something out.
If you guys have any suggestions regarding the format of the document or a strategy for my goals, please let me know.

Thanks for your time. Happy New Year, and Happy Cubing.

I can really feel you with this. This year I'm taking AP Physics which is quite mentally draining. Thankfully I only have 1 AP class, although I might have more in my sophomore year o_O

This is very cool and a good idea! I have one question: are you going to lightly practice other events during each month? If you don't, it's likely you'll get rusty at those events. Good luck with improving!

Having a plan is awesome! I hope you’re able to follow through and get the improvement you’re looking for!

My school doesn’t offer college classes until Junior year! I go to a small school (~140 in a graduating class, although there’s only 120 in mine!) which may have something to do with it, but the only (kind of) hard class that I was able to take this year was Intro to Business. The content in that class wasn’t too bad, but the teacher just gave a lot of homework and a lot of projects that he gave us less than a week to work on.

Good luck on your class! I'm taking Pre-calc and Physics Honors, so a bit similar. Make sure you establish good study habits, for you'll need them throughout high school.
Good luck then !
Thank you!

Right now I don't practice a lot of events. I've mainly done 3x3, with some 2x2 and pyraminx on the side; meaning, I don't take everything else seriously (but I'll try to). I can always take a break from the monthly event of course, maybe even do some non-wca stuff.

Yeah, I've had teachers like that. Last year I probably had the worst year so far. I took renewable energy, and the guy told us to build a model house that had to be efficient, and sustainable (getting flashbacks here). In the end, you could easily say my house best, but I did actually put a lot of effort, and even my parents helped me out (I can show you pictures of the house if PM me). The teacher was impressed, and when I look to see the grade, I see a "C." And for the presentation to the class, he gave me a "D" for dressing even though I wore something he considered acceptable (polo + jeans). Meanwhile, a group of girls received 100% for EVERYTHING, even though they had 6 pieces of cardboard with hot glue and gave a presentation on using bamboo for toothbrushes and bags to build a sustainable house. I despise the guy. I could literally write 3 paragraphs about me ranting, but that's not the point.

Tomorrow I'll try to learn squan parity and 1 DF+CP case!

Oof. I remember my 3rd grade teacher would let us play computer games all the time in his class, but whenever he assigned a project he made me redo it 3+ times because he didn't like me for correcting his lessons all the time(I was right most of the time. I am still mad after more than half a decade.)

I was actually just thinking about doing something like this. I'm around 25 using Lin so if you need any help PM me, I'll do my best.

F your teacher mate. Have been there. There is nothing worse especially considering that he's supposed to be there to help you succeed. If you can keep your head down and power through that class good for you. If not just drop it because it isn't worth the stress, honestly.

I'll probably PM you about block buildinig tomorrow, or sometime this week, so thanks in advance! And as for the class, I took it last year (Freshman year), and now I'm a Sophomore, so thankfully I don't have to deal with him anymore. He also hated Freshman. After he came in January (1 year ago) after the other teacher left, the first thing I said to him was "Good morning." He responded: "I know it's morning Captain Obvious." From that moment I just knew what type of person he was. Luckily this year most of my virtually are pretty nice and care about my success. anyway, thanks for your support!

So I love this monthly plan as it’s something I should also do as like you I’ve been cubing for about 4 years and haven’t seen much improvement. My biggest problem with it is that I’ll jump around with events. I was set on working on oh a whole bunch but now I’m doing bld instead so I just don’t know what I’ll practice next so I don’t think I could stick to a plan months ahead like this but if you can go for it and I hope you achieve all your goals.

Good and bad news.
The bad: School starts tomorrow, so my free-time levels will drop by 500%.
The good: I learned parity and 1 DF+CP case! I'm obviously slow at parity, but I'm trying to find some good fingertricks.

And on the sheet, if a plan is partly colored (like 2 DF+CP cases), it means I accomplished a portion of that goal. In this case, 1 out 2 cases, so halfe of it is colored.

Alright, so right now I know 2 of the 6 DF+CP cases, which is sufficient to get me to edge permutation. I only the Ua, Ub and H(plus parity), Silky is helping me with cube shape and block building, so huge thanks to him!

you can use the 3x3 h perm on squan (M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2)
It's bad, but better than 2 U perms
