After a certain custom puzzle of the same type was discontinued (hint, it rhymes with the dash-p sq1 from da mewbickle), I figured someone might be interested in purchasing a custom hand-made version of my own. I do a near identical mod to the previously available version. Additionally, I can apply a weight reduction mod , which involves hollowing out certain parts of the cube's pieces, as well as polish off the cube's matte finish to give it a glossy one. I've included pictures of the process as well as the final product for these puzzles. My prices are as follows:

Standard (edge-magnetized, maglev)
Polished (edge-magnetized, maglev, polished caps)
WR (edge-magnetized, maglev, weight reduction)
WR Polished (edge-magnetized, maglev, weight reduction, polished caps)

Accepted payment methods are Venmo and Paypal.

Huge thank you to Isaac Myers, the creator of several of these modifications to the MGC Sq1, for giving permission to make these!!

Edit: shipping is included in the prices listed, and all cubes will come fully set up too

Edit 2: The two newest pictures are from my prototype MGC Repulsion Sq1. It features press-fitted magnets on the corners of both layers and in the slice to achieve the same feeling as 3x3s with edge repulsion. This leads to a very fast puzzle while still having the additional alignment properties of the 3x3s with edge repulsion. I'll be making a few of these and hopefully sending them out soon. All versions of this puzzle will come polished.

MGC Repulsion
MGC Repulsion WR

Send a PM my way if you'd like to reserve one from my first batch!

**UPDATE**: My square-1s are going to be sold on Speedcubeshop! Because of this, I will no longer be taking new orders from the forum (if you have already reached out prior to this update to purchase a cube then this does not apply to you). Thank you to everyone that helped me get started on this project, and if you decide to purchase a sq1 from SCS, I hope you enjoy it :)

Half of the payment will be required up front in order to fund the purchase of the base puzzle, the other half will be provided before the final product ships. Accepted payment methods are Venmo and Paypal.

Do know how much weight the weight reduction removes?

also shouldn’t the final model be 54$ to be consistent with the up charge in polishing?

I couldn't tell you exactly since I don't own a scale, but it removes about the same amount of weight that the edge magnetization adds. It also gives the cube a distinct hollow, swishy sort of feeling.

The reduced cost of polishing is a result of me trying to make a better deal for those who are willing to spend the extra to get a weight reduced version in the first place.

What setup comes with the cubes?
It comes lubricated and tensioned with a mixture of various silicone and water-based lubes. It is probably a little on the faster side but it is still very smooth and controllable. I've gotten some good reviews on how I set up my sq1s, so that's the method I stick to. However, if you tell me what specific feeling you'd like your sq1 to have (i.e. gummier, drier etc.) then I'd be happy to make it how you request it!

I have purchased this square-1 and enjoy it. Overall it is very stable and allows you to have looser tensions without locking up. I bought mine weight reduced and I like the swishy feeling it gives. The polish gives it a nice grip too. Overall 8/10, I recommend asking for a preferred setup before ordering.
