Hi forum, Silky here.

I am happy to announce the first ever Metric Mixup FMC comp. This will be a FMC online forum competition with a twist. So what's the twist? Well, if you couldn't tell by the title, this will be an FMC competition but will be measured in different turn metrics! Specifically well will be measuring our solves in QTM, STM, and ATM. For more information on these turn metrics check out this article.

This competition will be held in January 2025. It will be held over 4 weeks. Each week there will be a Mo3. Week 1 will be measured in QTM, Week 2 will be measured STM, Week 3 will be measured in ATM, and Week 4 will be composed of a Mo3 - each solve measured in previous Turn Metrics.

I'm currently trying to get this competition sponsored so please either reply to the thread if you'd like to participate or answer the poll.

Much love,
Silky

This will be a fun comp, I might learn DR/HTR soon but rn my pbs are 26/32.00 for reference

Go for it!! I think one of the more interesting aspects of this competition will be the diversity of approaches we will see as a result of the change in metric. Blockbuilding will be far more viable for QTM and Corners First for STM. I have no idea how strategies will change for ATM but I'm excited to see what people will come up with!

Great!
Can you elaborate on the contest rules?
We would like to establish 3 special prizes for the best solutions on ATM-day, but in TRM metric - purchase of any 3x3x3 cube from SpeedCubeShop, Las Vegas, as a thank you for their great service.

Criteria for the best solutions:
Minimum in TRM metric \ minimum in QTM metric \ minimum in HTM metric
For example 5 solutions of superflip composed with four spot (26q*):

I = F B U’ R L’ U’ D R’ F2 L’ R’ U D B’ R2 U D’ F2 L’ U2 D2 (21f, 26q, 18t)

II = D R L' U B D R' F B U R' B' R' U D2 L R B2 D2 U2 L R (22f, 26q, 19t)

III = U2 F U2 R’ L F2 U F’ B’ R L U2 R U D’ R L’ D R’ L’ D2 (21f, 26q, 20t)

B R L' F U B R' U D F R' U' R' F D2 U2 F2 L R U2 L R (22f, 26q, 20t)
U' R D' R F' L' U R B' U B' D B' U' F R' F2 L2 U2 L2 D2 (21f, 26q, 26t)

Let me know how I can elaborate

I need some clarification on this. DM me and we can work some of the details out.
