I do better on megaminx than 4x4 but I’m slightly faster on 4x4 than megaminx. I like megaminx a bit more as I found it really fun, and I don’t get annoying parties like on 4x4. Both are not very easy to look ahead tho.

Mega. It’s cooler than 4x4 regarding solving. There are a lot more techniques you could learn from Mega than 4x4.
Besides, you already have more of a preference to Mega than 4x4, so just go with Mega.

I just wanna know which event is more popular in the cubing community🤣

Well, let me rephrase that: 4x4 is extremely fast. It does have some features that make it stand out, such as many different methods of reduction as well as somewhat good hardware. However, mega has many more techniques that can be implemented in a speed solve than 4x4. And the reason why so many people do 4x4 is prob the scrambling for mega. It can be intimidating, but it's actually really easy to follow along, and you can do it quite fast.

4x4 is also overall less intimidating. While Mega isn’t difficult, it seems much more complex than just “a bigger Rubik’s cube”. Also, Mega usually requires knowledge of F2L (or at least the beginner method I learned did)

It's not really like you need to learn F2L. It's just you need how to make blocks. In the beginning, making blocks is simple. Then you continue to do more advanced techniques that make the solve faster and better.

This is kind of off-topic but is that like a curvy copter megaminx in ur pfp?
No, that is a corner turning puzzle instead of edge turning like the curvy copter. There is a dodecahedron that is edge turning like CC though. It's pretty fun to solve every now and then but it doesn't turn well since it's an old mf8 puzzle.

What i like about 4x4 is that I can do an incredibly fast edge pairing with yau (on my level).
What i hate are the parity cases

Megaminx is a lot of searching, but there are much more possibilites than on normal cubes.

I like both of them but am better at 4x4. My lookahead is still bad and with the megaminx there are too many pieces to find

I'm going to say 4x4 (even though I'm a bit biased since I main 4x4). I really do enjoy Megaminx, but I find it less enjoyable compared to 4x4. 4x4 is a faster event less awkward to hold.
Also, parity isn't really a problem since we have opa. And pll parity isn't really an issue since it takes very little time to do.
Note: this is all my personal thoughts.
