Hello everyone, one question, why are we in megaminx's 4llll tutorials, they teach how to swap the edges and then the corners instead of swapping the corners first and then the edges?

I average about 1:40 with 4lll, but I believe it’s because the simplest algs for EP also move corners, while the CP algs do not. So you solve the edges first, then the corners
This is partially correct, but ignores the social context.
It's true that CP-only algs are easier than EP-only algs. But that's probably not the causal reason that tutorials teach 2-look PLL as EP then CP, which is that the people who made those tutorials learnt it this way (from earlier tutorials that also taught it like that!) and never tried other methods. Hell, they might not even be aware that other methods exist at all.
(hi I use an unconventional megaminx LL method; Ziyu (megaminx WR3) (!!!) also uses an unconventional method unrelated to OLL+PLL)
