Suits it make sense to be colour neutral for star but always do same last layer?
Lol I did not even know you could be color neutral on clockI am CN for all of the events I do (2x2-5x5, mega, clock, skewb, pyra, OH) and I think that at an elite level it would be useful.
If you want to get colour neutral I would just suggest practicing. If you don't want to be CN you should probably make an order to do the other S2L faces
I guess, but don't you have to be color neutral anyway because you have to rotate the cube a few times during the solve? I don't really see what good being color neutral would do for you on clock. You can be between light and dark blue lol
I used to do this back when I actually bothered grinding megaminx. White and yellow for F2L and finishing with grey for last layer. Using two adjacent stars has slightly less of an advantage than using two non-adjacent stars (e.g. white and grey, or white and orange), but it still opens up way more useful starting options compared to fixed star. (Which is also a double-edged sword, because inspection lasts only 15 seconds.)Suits it make sense to be colour neutral for star but always do same last layer?
Same, except that I suck at megaminx lol.I'll do a kind of freefop thing and generally work with a lot of blocks. I'll always take advantage of a free pair--I've never really understood why you wouldn't especially on such a large puzzle.
Not to self-promote or anything, but I have a video talking about
a kind of freefop thing
on my channel if you're curious about what I mean
I average somewhere between 55-58 on mega (I haven't practiced in a while[so I would probably get like a 65s, but after maybe 150 solves, I would be back down to mid-high 50s]), and I average just about 11 flat on 3x3.What do you average on 3x3 and mega? What average can you get down to with basic LL and averaging 13-14 on 3x3 (I am sub 1:50ish on mega)
I'm not really sure who you were asking, so I'll answer as well. I average 37 on mega and barely sub-10 on 3x3. I think I'm a good example of the fact that you don't have to be fast at 3x3 to be fast at megaminx. Sure, sub-10 is pretty fast, but not compared to sub-40 on megaminx. I'm top 10 in the world for megaminx average and not even top 1000 for 3x3. Anyway, I'm not just trying to flex here; my point is that your 3x3 speed isn't tied to your megaminx speed as closely as people think. You can get sub-1 on megaminx if you practice a lot, and 4LLL is fine to do that. What do you average on 3x3 and mega?
