This is the UK’s first open competition in 12 years, and it is hosted by none other than KewbzUK ( @Luke Terzich )

The highlight will be the electrifying head-to-head 3x3 finals as some of the fastest cubers across the country and beyond will battle it out to be crowned the winner of Kewbz UK Open 2024. Not only that, but this competition will also debut the UK Regions Cup(https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions/KewbzUKOpen2024#44684-uk-regions-cup). In this knock-out tournament, teams from different regions across the UK will face off to prove their region is the fastest in the UK.

Teams

Teams consisting of three competitors from the same UK region will be selected to compete for the title of UK Regions Cup Champions.

The 12 recognised regions of the UK are as following:
- North East England
- North West England
- Yorkshire and the Humber
- West Midlands
- East Midlands
- London
- East of England
- South East
- South West
- Scotland
- Wales
- Northern Ireland

Any competitor resident in the UK will be eligible to compete, regardless of nationality. You must live or have been born in the region you choose to represent.

im sorry for my dumbness, but wut in te wurld is an open comp?
Open in a competition context usually means that all skills and ages can compete, so in a cubing context i would guess it means all skill levels welcome.

Edit:

UK Open used to be the name of the UK's national championship, 12 years ago. When cubing got larger though, the Championship started to have qualifying times - as do all championships nowadays. The point of this UK Open is to be similar to the older UK Opens - a big, open comp with prestige to it.

Yes, the UK nationals have only been open in 3x3, 2x2, pyra and skewb for the past few years and even then you still need a comp average for those events
