Justin's BLD Progression Thread // Learning 3 style corners!

I've been learning 3 BLD recently and understand the buffer, swapping algorithms, and letter pairs. I'm currently trying to get my first full BLD solve. I've done ~10 solves where I solved all the corners(didn't even try edges). Next, I want to become more consistent with being able to do all the corners and then try to do all the edges by themselves. After that, I'll be trying my first full solve(I'll probably record it and post the video here). I've also been working on a website to help with memorizing letter pairs. AFAIK, most people use sites like Anki to train the letter pairs but my site will be better for memorizing pairs because it will actually prompt you with a pair that you need to create a word for, and allows for you to skip pairs and come back to them later without having to worry about accidentally missing a letter pair or having the same word for two different pairs.

Just did a 1:56 solve with all corners except the buffer and d corner were twisted. I'll be trying edges now.

ProStar is indeed the imposter, because as a juror has said before, my funky kong is more funky than his. Please dismiss this case against me and sue him instead

Also, I really have to start being more active in my progression threads. I have three successes, the fastest one being 11 minutes. I almost got a 6 minute solve, but messed up by a single corner twist. I'm planning on learning m2 soon, but first want to become more consistent with remembering memo and get three successes in a row

I'm still using OP/OP, and I haven't been grinding since blind solves take me so long. I only have 15 solves in my session, with an amazing 20% success rate (I'm actually surprised its not lower).

I may learn my letter pairs soon, but people are saying that it takes long and isn't very worth it at my stage, and I should just learn m2 instead. I don't really care about execution speed right now though, so I'm just going to (try) to grind as many solves as I can. I'll learn m2 once I get 10 successes or 100 solves in my session

Would I be able to learn them in two weeks to a month, with about 30 minutes to 1 hour spent on learning them daily?

yeah M2 is fairly simple and 30 minutes to an hour should be enough time
it really just takes the motivation to actually do it

I've started learning M2 and I know it is simple. I was talking about letter pairs. Should I learn them now, and is the amount of time I specified enough to learn them?

My goal from now on is to do 3 solves daily, which will get me to 200 solves (not successes) within a month. Hopefully by that time I'll be able to average sub-2, people from the bld server said that they got sub-2 after that amount of solves

Don't be like me who got a 1:38 with full OP months before I finally decided to learn M2!

It depends, but I can see that happening, if you put in a lot of work into memorizing the letter pairs. Also, make sure you use “chunking” and audio memo for edges.

Don't be like me who got a 1:38 with full OP months before I finally decided to learn M2!

I did learn it, just haven't used it in a solve yet. I did an op/op attempt earlier and was off by a corner twist (technically two since there can't just be one).
