Is the yj mgc 5x5 cube really good?

Recently, I got the 5x5 yj mgc Rubik's cube. Out of the box, it is quite slow and difficult to turn.
Of course, that is given I have not tried my hands on a 5x5 for about 2 years. Or does it have something to do with the settings and accessories. I did get a box of accessories, but I am unsure of how to use it. Or perhaps that is natural in a 5x5.

So, is the cube good? Do I just need to give it time? Or is that expected from a 5x5?

The cube has the potential to be good, with setup and tensioning it, and lubing it.

When I got my MGC 5x5, it was so loose it popped on first turns. Its better now, but I still need to set it up better.
