Is Being Method Neutral Worth It?

Good discussion about this:

Basically just the title. Is it worth it to be method neutral on 3x3?
As in, if you practiced a few methods, then if you saw a good case, you would use the best method for that scramble. Do you think this is worth it?
I don't think so, because picking which method to do adds more time in inspection, so you will have less time to plan more in inspection.

I personally would not recommend method neutrality, for the same reason I don't recommend color neutrality

in theory, the benefit of having more options is you can choose the best start during inspection

the downside is, it takes time out of inspection to decide a path. it's better to inspect deeply, like in cfop to plan out 1, 2, or even 3 pairs. inspecting deeply is much more impactful than shaving off 1 move from your cross
