This new test is from a Taiwan site. Check your cube and see how much force you need to do this turn. That's supposed to be a quick way to test for lockups. It would be nice if cube reviewers can include this, in addition to the usual line-to-line and 45° turns.
In his tests, performed more than one year ago and checking the top spec'ed models only (except when indicated otherwise), the best ones include the Super Weilong V1, XT1 V1, Huameng TG, but some well known cubes struggled, especially the Gan13. Some results were surprising indeed, eg the V5 apparently failed the test. I tested my newest cubes. My current favourite, the Guhong Pro+ 54mm Magnet passed the test. My Gan I4 did not do well, neither did many of my older favourites like the Picube V9 SE.
It's hard to be consistent with this test. I tried to use a thin scissor blade to set the angle for pushing that layer, and also rest the cube on a flat table surface when doing so, to align the other two layers perfectly. I think a loose tension will help, but it's more important to test your cube with your customised setting. This is of course just one of the tests, and a more stringent test. So, don't worry if some of your favourite cubes do not pass, like many of mine. This form of lockup may not happen at all, depending on your style and accuracy.
