If you had to remove one WCA event and add one WCA event, what would you remove and add?

Why would one want to remove FMC, one of the most unique events in the WCA, one that spotlights a niche aspect of cubing, one of efficiency and cube theory. At the top level, the methods and theory are very rich and complex, yet for beginners, as long as you can solve a cube and understand notation, it is definitely an accessible event. The wca would be at loss without FMC

Hm ok I guess I never really thought about fmc that way

I would remove FMC, Clock, or 7x7/6x6 and add FTO or Master Pyramix
Why clock. Just why. The innovation and the thought process that has been put into this event over the past 5-ish years is insane compared to other events. Also it’s many people’s main events, and for some people (including myself) it may actually be their favorite event.

I understand why clock is important but this is IF you had to I would never remove clock

If I had to remove an event? Probably 5x5 Blindfolded. There is already 4blind, plus not many people do it. (I am not saying it should be removed, though I would rather it be removed than anything else be removed.)

As for events to add, I guess FTO? I am 99% sure it will already be added this year considering the hype around it. I think something like Gigaminx or Master Pyraminx could also be a reasonable pick, but I think FTO is the best choice for events to add.

Most people can't even solve giga under 10 min for a stackmat there's no way it would be "reasonable" as an event lol

Remove either 5bld
I would remove 5BLD. Honestly, who mains the 5BLD event??
Here to plead 5BLD's case-

5BLD is much more different to 4BLD than 7x7 is different to 6x6 and it shouldn't be removed. At a beginner level, they are pretty much the exact same and you just have to spend slightly longer doing 5BLD(if you know 4BLD then you probably have enough BLD experience that the extra memo in 5BLD isn't an issue). However, at a higher level 5BLD becomes much more interesting as you want to balance being fast with actually getting a success, as there are so many places you could make a mistake. In addition, 4BLD is easier to get very fast results in as in a high level you can just one-pass, it's not that much more memo. However, 5BLD is much more memo and it is extremely difficult to one-pass and get a very fast time. Just completing the event, 5BLD is almost exactly the same as 4BLD, but it is much harder to get fast results.

@NebraskanSpeedsolver is there something like this for why 6x6/7x7 should stay? Otherwise they disappear in 24 hours
