Thank you but I still don't really understand. I'm not a very good learner. I'm confused about why you have to look at edges that are not white. I really need a video to understand it and use it. But the website was semi-useful.
Nevermind what this post originally said, I misread one of your posts, I guess Cride's tutorial happened not to be as useful for you as for me.
The post below me is technically correct, but it's not necessarily how you want to go about doing this.
Cride's tutorial, to me, explains this very well, but if you're confused about non-white, edges, I can try to help you there.
I'm assuming, since it's the part you already understand, that you start out by checking if an edge's top (or, for F / B edges, front) is white / yellow. If it is white / yellow (from now on I'll say "white" meaning white / yellow), you know right away that it's oriented correctly.
If it's not white, you first need to decide if the color you see is an F color, B color, R color, or L color. If it's R / L, then you know right away it's misoriented. If it's F / B, you have to check the side of the edge. If the side of the edge is white, then it's misoriented. Otherwise, it's oriented correctly.
That may have confused you even more. If you happen to have understood it, though, then one last thing I'll say is that what I just described above is the same thing as the post below me. Eventually, if person X used this way and person Y used the way below me, they'd both end up correctly figuring out the orientation of the edges. This way is better though because recognizing the colors of the edges can be super-fast, whereas mentally moving them and seeing if they can be solved without F / F' /B / B' is really slow, and I don't think it's really feasible to do it twelve times in ten seconds.
Basically, in EO, you put the cube in a state which U,U',U2,D,D',D2,F2,B2,R,R',R2,L,L',L2 moves are the only moves possible. You will only find the edges that cannot be put into their solved configuration using only those moves (of course mentally). Those pieces are called the flipped/bad edges. Moving F,F' or B,B' can flip these pieces or make them good/bad.
For the line, solve DF and DB by using only those moves mentioned above.
