# How do you Calculate your TPS

1. Reconstruct solve
2. Count the turns (from the reconstruction)
3. Look at the time.
4. tps = number of turns ÷ time (seconds)

How do you reconstruct solves tho. (Sry if this is a messed up question)
...

1. Scramble cube using a computer generated scramble.
2. Solve cube.
3. Go back to the last scramble, and try and recall what you did, step by step.
4. Write down the moves.
5. See above.

Wouldn't you need to have a constant tips for it to work.

Just do this.

Do an average of 12 solves where you count how many moves each solve it takes you to solve it. Drop highest and lowest and average the middle 10. Then do an average of 100 timed and do the move average divided by the time average. thats your tps

Normal CFOP solves are around 60 moves, I think. I usually use that to give me a estimate for my tps (60/average).

You would, but it's just an average tps for the entire solve. You could figure out your tps every fraction of a second, but who wants to do that?

This guy does though:
