How can I practice for competition (simulating comps) without a stackmat timer?

I don't think I made myself clear, that's on me. solving in comp is very different than solving at home because at home you use a space bar, but at comp you need to get used to an entirely new input. is there a way to practice the stackmat starts without a stackmat?

What I do to simulate stackmat is instead of having one hand on the cube before inspection, pick it up during inspection and put both hands on the spacebar, then, for the timer stop, entirely drop the cube and put both hands back on the spacebar.
