Help With Advanced Cubing Methods

Hello there,

I am a guy that is an avid cuber. I have been cubing for almost a year now and its time for me to learn a different method (currently I only know beginners method). So I am in need of some help on what you would recommend as a good advanced method. And if you could also post what you think is the best way to learn the method that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help, any and all help is appreciated.

I would recommend CFOP. It is very similar to the method you already use.

Seconded - it's the most basic of the 'advanced' methods, and the easiest transition from beginner's method. Badmephisto's tutorials are excellent.

CFOP sucks go with ZZ ROUX and or Petrus, learning these will help you greatly, if you want to learn with out being an ALG robot,

Roux and CFOP are equal. CFOP if you like algs and motor memory, and Roux for a more intuitive, easier, smoother approach.

In reality though, we just make algs for f2l without realising. So it's really only the cross that is done intuitively.

Well the same thing happens with roux. You learn to recognize and solve certain things for blocks, LSE cases, etc.

Yes but for roux you learn how to manipulate pieces, whereas in cfop its just recognition of a case.

I disagree. Intuitive F2L let me learn how to manipulate pieces. I came up with all my cases on my own.

Same here. I can do full LL edges manipulation with LS.

Considering the majority of world records are broken with CFOP, i could see how it sucks.

Yeah I agree completely. People who hate CFOP and say it's brainless are doing it wrong. I think it is just as fun as roux, personally.
