[Help Thread] bigBLD discussion

Does anybody have any tips on improving 5BLD success rate(I don't really care about speed at the moment)? (Things I can do in the actual solve or deliberate practice drills)

I'm trying to increase my success rate right now in safety solves where I go much slower than normal, as this is what I plan to do to try and get NR mean. My errors include exec errors and just being off by some random pieces, and I can't really check my DNFs since I don't record my solves(might try to find a way to do this). I don't have much problem with recalling memo, but it's possible that some letter pairs are dropping out of my memo when I'm solving.

I've also heard about sighted solves, how would I be able to use these to increase my success rate? If anybody has any tips that would be great!

You can plug in the scramble and your memo to this site (after configuring your letter scheme, etc.) and see what the cube would look like. This helps determine what went wrong and whether it was a memo mistake (if the result matches your physical cube) or an exec mistake (if the result is solved).

If you're making exec mistakes mostly, then using this to generate memo for you and then executing a single piece type and making sure you do it right - if not, identify exactly what went wrong (without the hassle of memorizing an entire cube, doing an entire solve, and figuring out what piece type went wrong - an easier version of sighted solves).
