Hello all,

I've started cubing a few weeks ago when I noticed some of my friends were doing so as well, and I finally managed to solve one 19 days ago. Since then, I've become rather obsessed and my best time so far is 66.2 seconds. I use the Petrus method. When I first started, I used a very low quality one which broke after speedcubing it for a while. I've now got a better one, but for some reason is rather loose and get pieces falling off occasionally, especially if I'm a bit too harsh on it. I've changed the style of how I turn the cube so it happens less often, but it's not always 100% foolproof. Is there anything I can do about it, or am I just unlucky and got a bad one when I bought it (it's not that cheap, and I've seen other people with the same type of cube as me, but aren't as loose)?

Two cubes are made by the same manufacturer aren't going to be identical. Some people are just luckier than others when it comes to store-bought cubes.
