[Member Intro] Hello from the cuber's desert of Colorado

I was cubing when I was a kid back in the '80s, and figured out the algorithms on my own without using books like everybody else. It took me around 15:00 to solve. I don't know where that cube is now, but it's too worn out to use. Then about a year ago I saw a clickbait article in some business group about how to solve a cube, and decided to get another cube from Walmart to see if I could still do it. Got a phone app, and learned the 2x2, 4x4, and 5x5 from the web, and got my 3x3 average to about 3:00. Around 3 months ago started watching vids about F2L and CFOP and got under 2:00. Found out about speedsolving.com a couple weeks ago, and WOW! Never knew there was such a huge database of algorithms! Been working through the 4L-LL algs I never knew, starting on full PLL, and got my record down to 1:04 on what must've been a stupid scramble. It's pretty pathetic compared to everyone else, but I'm impressed. Hoping to find another cuber in CO, so we can compare notes and times.

Hey welcome to the forums! There's a few people from Colorado here, and if you're interested in going to a competition there's the mile high speedcubing group on facebook that says when the next competition would be.

Make sure you check out some other methods before you decide to commit to CFOP; especially Roux and ZZ.
