Hello!
I used to cube about 15 years ago and had the impulse last week to return to it. The records and technology have improved a lot since! In those days, I averaged about 25 3x3 with 2-look OLL and full PLL, and I could solve 2x2, 3x3 OH, 5x5, and Megaminx. My best time now is 25, ao5 30, ao12 35, and mean 40, with CFOP split 6/20/6/8... That's with intuitive F2L, >2-look OLL (8/10 algs), and >2-look PLL (2/6 algs).
My immediate goals are to learn all of 4LLL and re-learn some other puzzles. One day, I want to reach sub-20, but I'd like to compete for fun anyway — perhaps at the Weston-super-Mare Spring 2024 or Bristol Summer 2024 events. I have the MoYu Super RS3M 2022 Ball-core and WeiLong WRM 2021 Maglev 3x3s, and I am already scoping out other puzzles like the YJ MGC Elite 2x2, MoYu Weilong Pyraminx, MoYu RS Maglev Skewb, and YJ YuHu V2M Megaminx...
