Cubing Update:

Pretty happy with my solves rn, I haven't been practicing much recently but I'm still averaging around the same as before. I've noticed I've gotten a lot better at nerve control in competitions recently, but I've also become kind of inconsistent throughout my solves in my averages, and I tend to always get 3 good solves but 2 bad solves. I need to figure out a way to saftey a fourth good solve so I can start getting the averages that I should be getting. Overall I'm happy though, the amount of 6's and low 7's I get in comp is a lot higher than before, and I can definitely get a low/sub 7 average soon. I won't go too in-depth with the mental strategies I've been using officially, but they definitely seem to be working.

2x2 got boring really quickly for some reason, and I'm trying to go back to 4x4, but for some reason my VIN just sucks. I'm probably going to buy the new Aosu, and I'm going to pick up a Gan 15 as well, since my Gan 12 isn't really cutting it for me anymore.

Planning on doing 3 hours of practice per day again, starting now. I'm going to focus on my LSLL, since that is kind of where my solves fall apart. I'm going to drill all of my OLL/PLL algs a lot, because I seem to lock up a lot. I also need to get better at my LS/OLL transition, and I am going to drill some more ZBLL as well.

For 4x4, I want to improve my edges, since I do pause quite a bit. My centers could also use some work.

Sub 7/30 average soon!

the beef is real and so is the one piece apparently
Until you beat me officially I won’t say that you’re faster

I did around 270 solves yesterday 💀, and I've already done 100 today despite the fact I haven't even done my main practice session yet. I wasn't lying that I'm back 🤷‍♂️

I got a pretty nice 7.06 ao100 this morning with a few clean fullstep 4's. Still going for the sub 7 ao100 (and also sub 6 ao5 since it's been a while). I have a comp this weekend, hopefully I get a low/sub 7 average 🤞🤞. I'm trying out some more new mental strategies, and I'm pretty optimistic for the comp, although of course it doesn't really matter if I don't do well, because like a wise man once said: "It's California. If you do bad one comp, you always have another one a week later".

Pretty average performance this competition - follows my recent trend of getting three good solves but two bad solves in every average haha.

In the first round, I was on 7.6 average pace (which seems to happen a lot), but I messed up the last solve and counted a 10.84. It was somehow still a sub 9 average though, and it of course got me to the second round, which is what matters. The second round had potential for a great average, and I went into the fifth solve with a counting 6.4 and 7.8. I had sub 7 BPA here and I only needed a 7.79 for PR, but unfortunately I messed up a bit on the last solve and got an 8.57, giving me a 7.63 average (another 7.6 average 💀). A huge waste, but still a decent average nonetheless. You can watch it here.
I started off finals pretty well, with a 6.9 and a 7.1. I plus two'ed a 8.2 on the third solve, which really broke my mental for the fourth solve, where I got a counting 8.89. I was able to clutch out a sub 8 average on the last solve though, with a 7.69. Overall 3x3 went about average, but again, each average had really good potential without the dumb counting times.
2x2 was pretty good, and I got decent averages in both rounds.
Couldn't really turn well for OH but that's alright, since I don't really practice.
Fun comp! Next one is in three weeks.
Also my Gan 15 is coming soon, maybe I'll have a new main? Hopefully it propels me to sub 7 haha

You gotta lock in man. Break the cycle of mediocrity and you can get a sub-7 average. I think mindfulness meditation discussed by Jayden McNeil in his blog will help you a bit.
