I use Yau and I'm struggling to beat some huge boundaries.
I do know that 3x3 stage has something to do with it, and that's why I use Yau. Because I average 16 seconds on 3x3.
Do you have any tips? Aside from lookahead, that is.

I use Yau for 5x5, but 6x6 and 7x7 I use redux. Tbh, a lot of my improvement has just been experimenting with stuff during centers to make them faster, and watching a lot of fast people solve. My edge stages still kinda suck but I'm working on that too. just trying to be as aware as I can with where certain edges are. but besides that, i just do a ton of solves. pre-covid i wasn't even sub 15 minutes on 7x7 or sub 5 minutes on 5x5.

That's significantly faster than my 6x6 PB, which is 10:20 (I only have 4 solves in my session though, I don't practice big cubse)
