Hii there,

There was supposed to be an unofficial event at the Delhi Summer Open 2013 which had to be cancelled due to lack of time.

It was a quiz prepared by my friend and a very good speedcuber Akash.

Quiz

Have fun, give comments and feedback on the quiz and post your results :)

27A is false, didn't check the rest.

Same dimensions of individual pieces is the keyword here. As 2.5 sqrt2 >3.5, The edge piece will not have any part(except the stalk) in contact with the layer below it when a side is misaligned by 45 degrees and its indeed mathematically impossible which is why we have larger outer pieces on shengshou, so 2.5sqrt2<3.5+x (where x is extra size added to outer pieces)

This was my thought process behind this question, I might be wrong Monsieur :)

False, because
It coud be a perfect cube-shape if the lines are not equidistant. It is not necessary to construct a pillowed shape. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pYOY3yzGu2s for example. It is a perfectly cube shaped 7x7.

Therefore, 27A is false, because it states that is must be pillowed.

Of course I agree with what you say.
But the question mentions same dimension of individual pieces(same dimension means all pieces have perfect square shaped surface of equal dimensions). i.e the case where lines are equidistant. For example 2x2,3x3,4x4,5x5 all work on equidistant pieces, so they are alright mathematically. but 7x7 onwards, they need to be altered
