Ender9994's Progression Thread - 11/23/25. Unboxed a Few New Puzzles

layer height was set to 0.20mm, though today I have been messing around with changing to 0.16mm. It is not cubing related, but I just finished printing this at the lower layer height. Haven't gotten around to assembling it yet, but will try and get around to cleaning up the pieces, getting the 4mm screw I need, and convincing my wife to print out the stickers for it on her Cricut machine.

very nice! what is it?
also what slicer do you use? I use cura as it's pretty intuitive. you can also adjust support infill for easy removal.

That's cool that your wife has a cricut. I'm still trying to find a way to custom fit stickers for my own 3d printed puzzles. I heard that there is sticky paper that you can just put into any printer, but I want vinyl and not paper.

anyway, have fun!

Nice helmet! I am planning on doing a spartan mjolnir helmet at some point. That piece is a part of a needler from halo.

I have been using PrusaSlicer. I tried cura but I couldn't stand the gui. I have been varying infil % for my pieces between 10 - 20, but haven't messed with support settings much except for trying out organic supports. I have a few more puzzles I want to print but waiting on different PLA to arrive.

The cricut works pretty good from what I have seen but it is finicky. Also it sounds like your jacking into the matrix when it's being used

Does anyone want a yuxin gigaminx? I bought one off of @Tabe a bit ago without realizing I already owned one. I am dumb.

Drop a cubing joke here and I will choose one person at random and send it to them (US only).

Well, I know I ain't gonna win, but I'll give it a shot.

Someone walks into a comedy club one day. He sees a guy up on stage doing tricks with a cube. He yells from across the room "Hey, I can do one of those!". He runs up on stage and solves the cube for everyone. Everyone looks at him like he's crazy. He tries to show them that the cube is done. But it was a lost cause. He walked down the stairs and when he got outside, animal control was waiting to pick him up. Crazy day for stray dogs.

Also, Here is a full size helmet that I printed on my ender printer.View attachment 28659
My friend also printed a mandalorian helmet with his 3d printer, and used it as his costume for halloween! Very cool, what did you use as the finish? Looks glossy and reflective, exactly what it should look like (except I've never watched it so I actually have no clue but it looks cool either way lol)

A cuber is out on a beach and decides that they want a tan. So they put on some sunscreen and tanning lotion, lay on a towel, and go to sleep.
A few hours later, they wake up with the worst sunburn of their life.
Panicking, they grab their Mystic and dump it all over themself. Surprisingly, the pain from the sunburn fades.
The cuber then says "I guess I'll aloe this mistake one time, but never again."

this photo was actually taken before finishing. this is the base coat which is a gloss black. the armor is a reflective chrome silver so an under tone of gloss black makes the chrome really pop.

Ik my joke sucked lol

The only reason I entered is I need a new puzzle to take on the road for long drives, since I sold my 8x8
Similar reason, except I already have a kibiminx and a megaminx, and a gigaminx will be a great add on.
Don’t say that the 4x4 kibiminx would be great, since hardware for it isn’t that good.
